    Rhizomes formed a spindle, or slightly curved, 2-3.5 cm long, 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter.Irregular surface brown or dark brown, with longitudinal wrinkles, and there are clear and slightly grand link 6 ~ 10, internode 2 ~ 6 mm long, festival has many toward the side of the brown hair, and residual root mark;To clean wool should be relatively smooth, with fine longitudinal ridges.Qualitative hard, cooking section cutin, tan or brownish red, gave birth to bask in the broken flour, white;Endodermis ring, stele color is deeper, vascular bundle point can be clearly seen.Specific aromatic, slightly bitter taste.

Function:

1. Inhibiting the development of formaldehyde-induced arthritis in rats by gastric infusion of its decoction.

2. Intraperitoneal injection of its decoction exerts sedative and hypnotic effects on rats.

3. Intravenous injection for dogs can dilate coronary and femoral arteries, decrease peripheral resistance and increase the volume of blood flow.

4. Inhibiting the aggregation of thrombocytes induced by ADP or collagen.
